Thailand Catch Up

We are not dead. I promise. Just too lazy to write our next post.

We moved Airbnb’s a few days back and left our cute beach bungalow. It was incredibly sad and neither of us wanted to do it. But it had to be done. I had cut my foot open, and it was not looking too great, so we had to relax and stay off of our feet for a bit.

The last thing we did in Phuket was a little bit adventurous. Our anniversary was 9/2/2019 and we wanted to celebrate it with something romantic. I booked a nice tour all over the islands in Phuket and we were so pumped. It included a seafood feast at sea and a lot of beaches, snorkeling, and relaxing. But the day before we left, the tour guide messaged us and told us that were cancelling our tour. They had overbooked it and so we were cut.

i frantically looked for another tour and found one that was a little different. It was white water rafting, ATVing, and ziplining. I booked it and thought what the heck. We are the type of people that would enjoy a nice day of adventure.

We got picked up really early and they drove us first to the monkey temple. We got to spend some time feeding the monkeys for a couple dollars.

It was a lot of fun, but all good things must end, so they loaded us back up in the van and we headed to the adventure location. Once we got there, we crawled into the back of a truck and they brought us up to a waterfall for some people to swim and others to just look around. It was so beautiful.

We crawled back into the truck and headed down to rafting. I had never white water rafted before, but I was excited about the adventure. The rapids weren’t super strong, but there were definitely some parts you wouldn’t have wanted to fall out. Our guides were really fun and kept messing around with us and teasing the boys for holding on. They were singing, laughing, and putting on a really fun show for us.

After white water rafting, we got to go ziplining. We ziplined over some elephants and tropical forests. It was absolutely beautiful. Then they gave us a lunch. They had claimed it was an authentic Thai lunch, but the girl we had met from Hong Kong told us that is was definitely Chinese food. Either way it was delicious.

Last but but not least, we got to go ATVing. It had just rained prior to us coming there, so the course was absolutely just mud. We shared an ATV and at first Jon was really trying not to cover us in mud. About five minutes in though we decided it would be more fun covered in mud. So he picked up the speed and we did some donuts and drifted and all sorts of mud inducing tricks. We had so much fun riding around. It was definitely the highlight of our day.

The next morning, we got to the airport and flew to Chiang Mai. Our Airbnb is the cutest thing ever and so we haven’t spent a lot of time outside of it. Yesterday we roamed our neighborhood and then laid around inside. Today though we will spend some more time out and about!

More to come from Chiang Mai very soon!
